Important Guidelines for Candidates Applying to CEN No. 04/2024
Candidates applying for CEN No. 04/2024 must ensure they meet all required educational, technical, and professional qualifications by the application closing date. Those awaiting final results of their qualifications are ineligible to apply.
Before submitting their application online, candidates should carefully review the Post Parameter Table and Vacancy Table to verify their eligibility. It's crucial to note that candidates are permitted to apply to only one RRB, and must submit a single online application indicating their preferred posts for which they are eligible and interested. Applications must be submitted exclusively through the official RRB websites listed in Para 14(f). Once submitted, the chosen RRB will be considered final. Multiple applications across different RRBs for the same posts will result in rejection and disqualification.
Candidate eligibility will initially be assessed based on the information provided in the online application. The RRB will conduct a provisional scrutiny of applications, with final verification of qualifications, age, and category documents occurring at the Document Verification stage. If any claims made in the application cannot be substantiated by official documents, the candidature will be cancelled. Furthermore, any discovery of false information or failure to meet eligibility criteria at any stage of recruitment will result in immediate disqualification.
For candidates claiming SC/ST/OBC/EWS/EBC status or other benefits such as fee concessions and age relaxation, the crucial date for such claims will be the closing date of the online application submission.
Medical and Age Requirements:
Candidates must meet the medical standards for the posts they are applying for, as those found medically unsuitable will not be offered alternative appointments. The age limits for each post, as of 01.01.2025, are detailed in Para 5.1, including applicable upper age relaxations.
Selection Process and Preferences:
RRB-wise and Railway-wise vacancies indicated in this CEN are provisional and may be subject to change based on the requirements of the Railway administrations. Candidates can choose only one RRB and must indicate their preferences for Railway Zones and posts/categories within that RRB. Partial preferences will only be considered for the specific zones and posts/categories chosen. Once submitted, these preferences are final and cannot be altered.
Communication and Account Creation:
Candidates must have an active mobile number and a valid email address, as all communications throughout the recruitment process will be conducted via SMS and email. During the online application process, candidates will need to create an account. If an account was previously created for CENs notified in 2024, the same credentials should be used. New candidates must create an account before proceeding. It is essential that candidates enter accurate details when creating their account, as no changes will be allowed once the account is created.
After submitting the online application, candidates may modify or correct details (except those in the 'Create an Account' form) by paying a non-refundable modification fee of Rs. 250 per change from 17.09.2024 to 26.09.2024. However, details such as the chosen RRB and contact information cannot be changed.
Final Stages of Selection:
Shortlisting for Document Verification (DV) and Medical Examination will be conducted RRB-wise at a 1:1 ratio to the available vacancies, based on CBT merit. Marks will be normalized for CBT held in multiple shifts. Shortlisted candidates will be notified via the official RRB websites, SMS, and email to download their E-call letters for DV.
